TPM, TPO & TPI. What's the difference? Trade Promotion Intelligence compliments Trade Promotion Management & is required before Trade Promotion Optimization. This infographic summarizes the differences. TPI leverages TPM solutions like SAP TPM, Demantra TPM and other trade promotion management software. Once TPI is implemented that intelligence can be used for TPO. But true TPO requires the integration of Cost of Goods Sold, COGS, along with other important data sources in order to calculate ROI for both the retailer as well as the manufacturer.

The best place to start is to first integrate your POS data with internal master data. That way, the POS feeding your TPM solution will be clean and reliable. If you already have a TPM solution, you need to integrate plans with POS, syndicated data, master data, shipments, budgets, forecasts & COGS to understand trade promotion intelligence. From there, you should implement a TPO solution by adding on the predictive analytics. Learn more about how we can help.
